IN THE BELLY OF GINZA 1/6

After spending two weeks in Tokyo I realized, that this will be a place which I need to visit over and over again, to continue my journey as a photographer. The visual and intellectual stimulation and vibrating contrast of tradition, modernism and mystery which I received was just unbelievable. Ginza is one of Tokyo's first districts (originally named after the establishment of a silver-coin mint) and after a devastating fire in 1872 burned down most of the area, it was designated as a model of modernization. The Tokyo Metro Ginza Line is the oldest subway in Asia with stations closest to the surface - and provides the underground side to the vibrant street life one to two levels above.
